Meet the team

We are a group of passionate young people sharing our voice to create a more sustainable and smart city!

Our Project: Walk a ton!

What is this about?
As part of the Children’s Movement Through the City initiative, the Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) working alongside and with the supervision of Academy of the Near Future has chosen to focus their last project on encouraging students to move more actively. After discussion and a group vote, the Panel decided to organise a Step Challenge between the participating schools.

How will it work?
Each TY class (separately) will take part in the Step Challenge.

  • Start Date: 9th November
  • End Date: 15th November, 12:00 p.m.

Every class can choose a team name and nominate a team captain, who will be responsible for collecting each student’s daily step count and uploading the totals to a Google Form created by the Youth Advisory Panel.

Why promote Active Travel?
Active travel: such as walking, cycling, or using other forms of physical movement is an important part of building healthier lifestyles and more sustainable communities. This project aims to raise awareness among young people about the benefits of being active, not only for their personal well-being, but also for the environment and their local areas.

We believe this initiative is a fun and engaging way to foster teamwork, physical activity, and awareness of sustainable travel choices.
