Youth Internship 2024

This June, the Academy of the Near Future proudly hosted three enthusiastic youth interns—Louise, Kris, and Glory—for a three-week paid internship. Their involvement was part of ANF's mission to develop workshops for young people, by young people!

The interns worked directly with us to design and develop learning materials for future workshops. The program aimed to give interns a glimpse into STEM research and engagement careers.. The weeks were divided in different sections; communications, programme content and evaluation.

  • Louise led the charge in enhancing ANF’s online presence. They developed a social media strategy, created templates for posts, and contributed to the website content. All the interns evaluated ANF’s current social media practices.

  • Kris focused on content development. The interns worked together to design and evaluate our workshop activities on STEM and smart.

  • Glory concentrated her efforts on evaluation strategies. The interns explored best practices for pre and post-workshop evaluations and brainstormed ways to give feedback to leaders in the community, ensuring youth voices in it.

This internship was more than just a summer job; it was a platform for youth empowerment and STEM advocacy. Louise, Kris, and Glory not only gained valuable work experience but also played a crucial role in shaping the future of ANF’s educational initiatives for 2024-2025. Their enthusiasm and innovative ideas reflect the potential and importance of involving young minds in the creation and evaluation of educational content.
